Unsere Reise nach Kanada hat gut geklappt – auch wenn der erste Abschnitt ein kleines Abenteuer für sich war. Die Zugfahrt begann ruhig, doch nach kurzer Zeit stieg eine Männer-Fußballmannschaft zu, die offenbar schon länger im „Feiermodus“ war. Im August Weihnachtslieder und -musik zu hören, während der ganze Waggon in einer Mischung aus Gelächter, Gegröle und „Teamgeist“ schwang, war… sagen wir mal: ungewöhnlich. Kritik schien sie nicht so richtig zu beeindrucken – fast hätten sie sogar den Zug verlassen müssen.
Our journey to Canada went smoothly – although the first leg was a little adventure in itself. The train ride started out quietly, but before long a men’s football team boarded, and they had clearly been in “party mode” for quite some time. Hearing Christmas songs and music in August while the whole carriage was filled with laughter, shouting, and “team spirit” was… let’s just say: unusual. They didn’t seem too bothered by any criticism – they almost even had to leave the train.
Immerhin: Der Zug war pünktlich, und unser anschließender Flug nach Vancouver startete nur mit leichter Verspätung. An Bord war es dafür umso angenehmer – kaum Turbulenzen, so sanft, dass es fast nicht der Rede wert ist.
At least the train was on time, and our connecting flight to Vancouver departed with only a slight delay. The flight itself was very pleasant – barely any turbulence, so smooth it’s hardly worth mentioning.
Unser Hotel in Vancouver ist ein kleines Highlight: Wir schauen direkt auf die Richmond Marina – wirklich wunderschön! Nach einer Shoppingrunde im Outlet werden wir heute aber früh ins Bett fallen. Der Tag war lang, und die Müdigkeit macht sich langsam bemerkbar. Morgen kann das Abenteuer dann richtig beginnen!
Our hotel in Vancouver is a little highlight: we have a direct view of the Richmond Marina – truly beautiful! After a shopping trip to the outlet mall, we’ll be heading to bed early tonight. It’s been a long day, and the tiredness is really starting to set in. Tomorrow, the adventure can truly begin!
