Yosemite day 1

Guten Morgen ihr Lieben,
Gestern hatten wir ein riesiges Stück Strecke zu bewältigen. 4 Stunden fahrt sagte das Navi Voraus.
Yesterday we had to tackle a huge stretch of track. 4 hours drive said the Navi advance.
Aber die Strecke wahr herrlich, so wenig Bäume (nach den letzten zwei Wochen können wir irgendwie keine bäume mehr sehen 😉 )Wunderbare Indian Summer Momente. Der Herbst ist nun auch final in den Staaten angekommen.
But the track is really beautiful, so few trees (after the last two weeks we can not see any trees anymore) Wonderful Indian Summer moments. Autumn has finally arrived in the States.
Wir haben die kürzeste und wohl beeindruckendste Strecke,über den Tiogapass, in den Yosemite Park gewählt. Der Tioga-Pass liegt auf 3513 Metern und ist nur von Ende Mai bis Ende Oktober befahrbar. Da man dieses Jahr so früh Schnee hatte wie noch nie, musste die Straße letzte Woche schon gesperrt werden.
We chose the shortest and most impressive route, via Tiogapass, into Yosemite Park. The Tioga Pass is located at 3513 meters and is only passable from late May to late October. With snow falling as early as this year, the road had to be closed last week.
Zu unserem Glück war es die letzten Tage aber ganz schön, sodass der meiste Schnee wieder weggetaut war und die Straße somit frei. Das Dumme war nur, es war Sonntag und viele Vegas-Wochenendbesucher aus der Bay-Area wählten den Park als Durchfahrtmöglichkeit.
Luckily for us the last few days were really nice, so most of the snow was thawed away and the road was clear. The stupid thing was, it was Sunday and many Vegas weekend visitors from the Bay Area chose the park as a transit option. 
Der Yosemite Nationalpark hatte gestern auch Geburtstag 😉 Sprich am Eingang des Tioga-Passes standen wir 1,5 Stunden im Stau. Aber die Natur war ja trotzdem schön zu bestaunen.
The Yosemite National Park had its birthday yesterday;) Say at the entrance of the Tioga Pass we were stuck for 1.5 hours in traffic. But nature was still beautiful to admire.
im Tal angekommen, verbrachten wir dann nochmal eine halbe Stunde am Check-In. Der Yosemite NP gehört mit zu den beliebtesten Parks Amerikas. Nur weil viele raus wollten, hieß das nicht, dass keiner rein wollte 😉
Arrived in the valley, we then spent another half hour at the check-in. Yosemite NP is one of America’s most popular parks. Just because many wanted to get out, that did not mean that nobody wanted to get in the park.
Das Auto muss im Park penibel leer geräumt werden. Da jede Flasche Wasser oder sonstige Menschliche Genussmittel für einen Bären eine Leckerei sind. Hier werden jedes Jahr 100 Autos durch Bären aufgebrochen!
The car must be cleared in the park meticulously empty. Because every bottle of water or other human stimulants are a treat for a bear. Every year, 100 cars are broken up by bears here!
Also mussten wir auch unser Zelt nur mit Klamotten bestücken unsere Essensvoräte müssen in einem Speziellen Container vor dem Zelt aufbewahrt werden. Als dass dann endlich alles erledigt war, sind wir noch eine kleine Runde durch den Park gefahren und haben uns nach Wanderrouten erkundigt.
So we just had to equip our tent with clothes. Our food supplies have to be stored in a special container in front of the tent. When finally everything was done, we went for a little walk through the park and inquired about hiking routes.
Die Nacht war eher so mittelprächtig, von zu warm (wir haben eine Heizung im Zelt) bis zu kalt war alles dabei. Das Hauptproblem ist wohl aber der Kopf, schreckte ich doch beim Kleinsten Geräusch sofort hoch und hatte bange, das ein Bär ins Zelt möchte 😉
The night was rather mediocre, from too warm (we have a heater in the tent) to too cold everything was there. The main problem is probably the head, but I startled at the smallest noise immediately and was afraid that a bear wants to come in the tent ;)
